At the bottom left of the design, below Britannia's loose dress, a trident represents her naval history, and as the viewer changes perspective, this trident becomes a lock, emphasizing the coin's secure nature. The surface animation reflects the movement of the waves and fine details, such as the Union flag on the Britannia coat of arms, have been carefully highlighted with dye lines. These additional security features decorate and protect the coin, as the microtext bordering the design reads, "Decus et Tutamen," which translates as "An ornament and a safeguard."
